Description:
Serial #80023, .32 S&W (black powder), 3.5 inch round ribbed barrel with a very fine bore with strong rifling and very light roughness. This is the Smith & Wesson 32 Double Action 4th Model revolver manufactured from 1883 to 1909 with this one made before 1898. Interestingly this example had a contemporary Lyman target front sight installed. In excellent condition the antique retains about 90-93% of the original bright factory nickel finish with scattered tiny spots of flaking, dulling and a few contusions. The trigger and hammer show generous amounts of muted case-hardened color and the trigger-guard has about 85% of the original bright blue finish. All numbered parts are matching including the grips which remain in excellent condition. The lock-up is tight and has a crisp trigger. Antique
