Winchester Model 12 Skeet grade pump action shotgun with special order 26" plain barrel and full choke.
S/N 967973 made in 1942.
The vast majority of Model 12 Skeet grades were produced with 26" ribbed barrels and WS-1 chokes, but any other factory barrel could be substituted, usually at modest additional cost.
This one wears a 26" plain barrel with a Modified choke and a 2 3/4" chamber. Correct Bradley red bead front sight. Plain (unribbed) barrel skeet grades are quite scarce.
Special order barrels such as this were so popular that by 1957, Winchester had created a new cataloged configuration known as Super Grade, more commonly referred to as Super Field or even Special Field, but otherwise, they were virtually identical to the Skeet grade shotguns.
This example is in very nice and unaltered condition throughout, showing 95% original finishes with only minor wear. An earlier gun with SKEET stamped on the underside of receiver. Higher grade checkered wood. 14" LOP.
Mirror bore and flawless mechanical functions.
