Hammerguns - This Purdey by serial number was at one time a muzzle loader and at some later date was converted to center fire. This actually was not all that unusual. I have seen many Purdey\'s that were converted, even matched pairs. It is most likely this gun was converted by Purdey\'s themselves as it is known they did many.
*The gun is tight. The bores are bright although there is some pitting. I am certain the barrels were longer at one time.
