VERY HIGH CONDITION PRE-WAR MODEL 71 .348 WCF WITH BOLT PEEP SIGHT, #9XXX MADE THE FIRST YEAR OF PRODUCTION, 1936. (Actually, 4 rifles were made in 1935). This superb example retains all the blue on the receiver with only a hint of flakingbrowning on the rear section of the loading gate and on the forward curve of the trigger guard. The barrel and magazine also retain about all the deep blue. Hooded front sight with bolt peep rear sight and a filler in the dovetail that shows no sign of ever having a sight in it. Exc. stock and forearm with only the most minor of handling marks and a couple of scratches, stock has a solid type sling swivel with no provision for a swivel in the forearm. Stock also shows a little fancier than standard grade of walnut than usually seen on these. Checkered steel butt plate, tight action and exc. bore. A great 1936 vintage Model 71.
