This is a classic Remington rifle, model 721. Chambered in 30-06. It‚‚s in overall good condition with no significant knicks or dings in the stock. There are a few scratches from normal handling over the years. The exterior of the barrel is showing signs of pitting. Sitting atop this rifle is a Leupold VX-1 3-9x40 scope.
The Remington 721 is a bolt-action rifle that was manufactured from 1948 to 1962 and replaced the Model 720. It was redesigned and the company used more cost-effective means of production following World War II while still competing with the highly popular Winchester Model 70. The Model 721 also became the basis of the 700 series which would later prove to be Americas best-selling bolt-action rifle. The Model 721 featured an internal box magazine and iron sights although it was drilled for a scope and was also available in a number of different calibers and variants.
