Smith & Wesson Model 915 9mm Pistol
Caliber – 9mm, alloy frame with carbon steel slide, flat blue finish, 4” barrel, right hand slide mounted decocking lever, .260” serrated hammer, .304” smooth trigger, 15- shot magazine, post with white dot front sight, fixed rear sight, black Xenoy one-piece wraparound grip with straight backstrap. Developed as an economy version of the third generation S&W semi-auto. Weight is 27.5oz
Retail was $467.00. Produced 1992-1994. Th is was a short production run of matte finished 5900 series sold as the Model 915. As the flood of plastic guns welled up in the early 1990s, Smith & Wesson piloted its own Sigma series, but also produced the Model 915 from 1992 through 1994 only. A limited run of 915s was produced in 1999 before the Brady Law went into effect. Product Code on these was 104792, 4” barrel, 15-shot Magazines, fixed rounded sights with dot front sight, single-lever manual safety and decocker, traditional double-action, Anodized Aluminum frame with Matte Blue finish to the steel slide. Other specs are carbon steel slide, .260 serrated hammer and .304 smooth combat trigger. Weight empty is 27.5 ounces. Two original magazines which were, by the way, manufactured in 1994 before the Brady Law went into eff ect. Its safety system: a main safety that decocks and stays locked down, a firing pin safety, and S&W’s distinctive magazine safety. Includes one 15 round magazine.
