Description: Serial #8283, .22 LR, 10 inch round ribbed barrel with a very fine bright bore with strong rifling and some scattered roughness near the breech. This is the 3rd Model Perfected target pistol manufactured by Smith & Wesson from 1909-1923. In excellent condition the barrel and frame retain about 93-96% of the original blue finish with some thinning at the muzzle and prominent edges with scattered light freckles and use marks and has a small loss spot just below the S&W logo on the frame. The trigger and hammer show generous amounts of case-hardened colors. The original Walnut extension type grips are pencil numbered to the gun and remain in excellent condition. The double action single shot functions well mechanically with a hint of vertical play in the lock up. A great example of the Smith and Wesson single shot pistols. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
