Description:
Serial #AB6137, 6.5 x 52mm, 21 inch barrel with a very good dark bore with strong rifling having an overall frosting. This is the Italian Carcano Short Rifle, made by R.E. Terni, model 38 variant of the M91/38 with a fixed rear and front sight utilizing the 6 round metal clip and the early 6.5 round measuring 40 inches overall. Marked on the receiver "1940 XVIII" with "MADE ITALY" beside it and the manufacturer "R.E. / Terni" below the crown proof. In near excellent condition the barrel and frame retain much of the original blue finish. The stock is solid with a dark finish showing light use marks. This model is slotted for the folding knife bayonet (not present) and has the cleaning rod trap door in the butt stock (rod is not present) with sling swivel on the the barrel band and inset slot on the stock. No import marks are present. FFL or C&R
