Excellent, high condition example of the very scarce Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammer semi-automatic pistol in 38 ACP caliber. (Please note: This is not the same as .380 ACP!)
S/N 41017 made in 1919.
Showing 97-98% of its ORIGINAL lustrous, high polish Blued finish with only scattered minor surface freckles and a bit of ring wear on front strap.
The original checkered hard rubber grips are fantastic as well with no cracks or other damage and still retain their rich blackish color with no toning to brown.
The original 7 shot magazine looks nearly new. All screw slots appear new and untouched throughout.
The mechanical functions are all working smoothly and properly and the 4 1/2 in. barrel has a fine bore with very strong rifling and some barely visible slight erosion in the grooves.
Just over 31,000 ever made, so they are quite difficult to find in this beautiful, untouched/unrestored condition.
