Payment Types Accepted: credit cards, cashier check, postal money order Description: I'm selling my collection. Here is a Rare French Artillery Berthier Carbine Model 1892 manufactured by St Étienne one of the government state arsenal factory. It's an Antique NO FFL was manufactured in 1897. It’s chambered in 8mmx 50R Lebel the best caliber of its time. With all the military approval markings. All serial number are not matching like most on issued French battle rifle of the period, as the 5 main government factories produced identical interchangeable parts. Scarcely found those Berthier Carbine Model 1892 as an Antique: bore is excellent with sharp rifling. The original round ring was replaced in a later period by sling swivel. The wood of the stock shows the usual little scarses are all visible on the pictures. The original factory finish rates 75-80% with rare pin-prick erosion. The action is firm and smooth. No import mark. Those short and light carbines were favored by the infantery, rangers, reconnaisance chasseurs à pied, going from trenches, leaping over craters and holes, being more practical, easier to carry than the long and heavy Lebel 86 or Berthier 1907-15. It's a real collector piece of history in antique pre-1898 as it was produced in 1897 as is the 106 years ago the battle of Verdun which lasted 10 months and made 700,000 victims, 163,000 French & 143,000 Germans and 410,000 wounded on both sides. The approximative total of the WW1 militaries and civilians togather were 9,000,000 killed & 200,000 wounded. I described it to the best of my knowledge. Ammunitions and accessories showed on one of the picture are not for sale. What is not written on the description would be on the pictures. Please don't ask for extra pictures.
