Description:
U.S. marked Colt Single Action Army chambered in .45 Colt. The serial number (95347) dates the "DFC" inspected frame of the revolver to 1883. Like most U.S. contract revolvers, it started its life as a Cavalry Model with 7-1/2 inch barrel and was arsenal refurbished with the barrel cut down to 5-1/2 inches. The mass arsenal rebuilds resulted in a mix of serial numbers and markings. The trigger guard ("138727") dates to 1891 and the back strap ("54621") dates to 1880. "RAC" inspector stamped on the butt of both grips. The left side of the frame has the two-line address followed by "U.S.". No accessories. .45 Colt
