Here's an exceedingly scarce, 100% original, and highly desirable Pre War Winchester 70 in 22 Hornet.
S/N 24784 with matching scribed bolt made in 1939.
96% original finishes overall with some general light wear and patina but nothing distracting. The wood has a very nice color and grain pattern.
24" standard weight barrel.
Everything is correct and untouched with an UNDRILLED rear receiver bridge, and all of the proper sights and components.
The insides look virtually new. The floorplate is correctly milled and is stamped on its underside with an H and the usual pre war triangle.
The mechanical functions are crisp and flawless. The bore is mostly bright with strong rifling, although there is some visible erosion toward the chamber end.
I have carefully inspected the chamber and positively confirmed that it does remain a true 22 Hornet and has never been reamed to "K Hornet" nor any other caliber.
A very hard to find rifle that remains in completely unaltered and highly collectible condition.
