Description:
Springfield Armory Omega 10mm. Released in advance of production as a writer sample per the included factory letter, this unique pistol has a matte finish (rather than polished). Made in 1987, serial NM30390 (slide serial A-1180128) has a 6-inch barrel (ported), flat top slide (fluted, blade front sight, adjustable rear sight), tuned trigger and Pachmayr grips. The original “briefcase”, extra .38 Super and .45 ACP ported barrels and a recoil spring are present. CONDITION: The bore is bright with what appears to be stubborn fouling. Metal finish is approximately 85 percent. Both .38 Super and .45 ACP barrels have great bores. The exterior finish of all three bores is tarnished. Slide locks open only when the existing magazine (marked .38 Super) is pressed upward. PROVENANCE: A Certificate of Authenticity signed by George Metcalf (brother) will be included. The price is firm and layaway is available. $1,750 plus shipping. DICK METCALF: P. Richard “Dick” Metcalf (1946-2023) spent the majority of his adult life participating in and profoundly influencing the shooting and hunting industry. For over 40 years, his features and columns were cornerstones of publications such as Guns & Ammo, Handguns, Petersen’s Hunting and of course Shooting Times. Dick also hosted several cable television shows associated with these publications. Dick Metcalf influenced the shooting and hunting worlds for the better and his contributions are certain to stand the test of time.
