Manufactured in Philadelphia, approximately 15,000 were manufactured from 1864 to 1869. The Second Model numbered approximately 400 to 15,000. Top of barrel is marked COOPER FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. FRANKFORT PHILA PA / PAT. JAN. 7, 1851 APR. 25, 1854 SEP. 4 1860 / SEP. 1, 1863 SEP. 22, 1863.
This revolver features an octagon barrel, barrel and cylinder held in place and easily removed for loading by releasing removable wedge. rounded shorter cylinder with notches, rounded brass trigger guard, brass back strap, walnut grips. Single side load. Barrel length 4 in.
We find all numbers found on this revolver to be matching on two places on brass frame, steel frame, and cylinder. All nipples are clear. Revolver's action is tight. There are no cracks or chips in grips.
