( Sold - C.A. )This is a scarcely seen Winchester Model 1895, NRA musket, caliber .30 Gov. '06 ( 30-06 ). Made in 1914. The 24" barrel, which was standard for the 30-03 and 30-06, has an exceptionally fine bore - the lands and grooves are sharp, square, nice shiny bore. These rifles were built to comply with the NRA's specs of a military arm, competition match. The NRA musket has the rear sight placed just ahead of the receiver - farther back than any other Model 1895. It has the correct 50B rear sight, and has a white bead front blade. Many NRA muskets are seen with the upper hand guard removed and the front bayonet lug ground flush - this rifle has both intact. The wood is excellent, solid, no cracks, very few scattered minor marks. The receiver blue is flaking and fading, but smooth, the action is excellent. Overall a fine example of a rare model 1895. **** Please add $150 for shipping in a new hard case, fully insured.
