Offered for sale is a spectacular example of a Colt 1905 45 Automatic. This pistol was Colt's first successful production large bore automatic pistol and was the predecessor to the iconic Colt M1911. This very pistol was used as an example in the Potocki book and is pictured on page 48. Please see the Rock Island Auciton description of this one as pictured. It describes it better than I can. A great example that would be tough to upgrade. The rework mark unfortunately will keep this one from being a $20,000 plus pistol. A great example for a great price. Most of these are roached out and brown.
