Featuring a 19 inch stainless barrel with a full-length magazine tube (6-round capacity), it excels at close to mid-range big-game hunts. The laminate stock endures harsh conditions, and the oversized loop lever accommodates gloved hands. A side loading gate allows topping off without removing the mag tube, and a spiral-fluted bolt plus improved tolerances reflect Ruger"s refinements. Often sporting ghost-ring or XS sights, it"s quick to shoulder in dense brush. Ideal for bear defense or thick-woods hunting, the 1895 SBL merges .45-70"s legendary power with modern manufacturing improvements.
