Description:

Standard configuration Savage 1907 pistol in .45 ACP made by Savage to compete against the Colt.  Production limited to 288 pistols. After the testing, the guns were reworked and sold commercially.  Part of the refinish included removing most of the slide legend, leaving only “ CAL .45”. This particular pistol, fully restored by Steve Moeller, had the slide legend reapplied. All parts matched to #131 except the slide that has an additional #36 and the slide release that is #167. The sight bar and grips are unnumbered. Nickled magazine body with blued floorplate.

Condition:

Near new as restored by Steve Moeller. Dull bore with shallow rifling and very shallow ring. Excellent grips with no cracks or chips. An extremely attractive and historically important Savage, now with full and correct slide address, sold for a fraction of the price of a comparable-condition original finish pistol.
