Description:

Description:

Standard configuration 1941 Johnson rifle in 7mm Mauser, made to fulfill a Chilean contract with 7mm caliber requirement. Except for the barrel, the rifle is otherwise finished and marked as per the standard rifle used during WWII, principally by the Marines in the Pacific. Of the 21,400 rifles that were manufactured, only 1000 were made for Chile in 1943. These guns were assembled with standard parts and a special 7mm barrel made by the National Arsenal in Mexico, then marked on the right rear receiver with “CRANSTON/ARMS/CO” in a triangle below a small five-pointed Dutch star as often seen on Johnson rifles. The top of the receiver is marked "CAL. 30-'06 SEMI-AUTO./"JOHNSON AUTOMATICS"/MODEL OF 1941/MADE IN PROVIDENCE, R.I., U.S.A." As true for virtually all Johnsons, the serial number "B1483" on top of the receiver is separate from the bolt that is numbered "B8171". Standard two piece walnut stock and forend.

Synopsis:

Outstanding Johnson 1941 Chilean contract rifle, one of 1000 manufactured during WWII.

Condition:

Stunning 98-99% original parkerized finish with comparable condition wood. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. It would be virtually impossible to improve upon the condition of this example, sure to please the most advanced collector.
