This H&R Officer’s Model 1873 Trapdoor is a beautifully crafted reproduction of the iconic Springfield rifle, released as part of Harrington & Richardson’s Centennial celebration. Designed to honor a century of American firearms heritage, this limited-edition rifle captures the essence of the original U.S. military issue with refined detail and historical accuracy. The rifle features a 26-inch blued barrel paired with a case-colored receiver, hammer, and breechblock. The front sight is a tall beaded blade, while the grip sports a flip-up, elevation-adjustable peep aperture, ideal for precise shooting. Condition:
The rifle remains in Fine overall condition, retaining approximately 99% of its original metal finish. The barrel shows only a few minor scrapes and handling marks, with deep, crisp markings. The stock exhibits a couple of small compression marks and light scrapes consistent with careful handling. Hardware has light oxidation in places. The bore is strong, with sharp rifling, minor fouling, and light erosion in the grooves. Mechanically, the action functions properly, though it has not been live-tested.
