This Ithaca Model 37 shotgun is known for its \"slam-fire\" feature, which allows the user to fire the shotgun multiple times without releasing the trigger, by simply cycling the slide while holding the trigger down. This means that with the trigger held, each time the slide is cycled forward, a round is fired.
The Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight is in fair condition, displaying signs of its storied past through some light pitting on the barrel and a few character-building knicks and dings throughout. Despite these marks of history, the bore remains in good condition, boasting a clean finish. The action is smooth and reliable, true to its reputation.
Please note, the front of the barrel has a small crack as indicated in pictures. Also the pistol grip does not appear to retain the original bolt and has been replaced with a aftermarket screw/bolt. Therefore it is recommended that the gun be checked by a gunsmith prior to using. Firearm does not come with a gun case.
Included with the sale is the shotgun itself, featuring a 18\" blued barrel and a pistol grip. The gun is chambered for 2 3/4\" shells. The hand-engraved game scene depicting ducks and wetlands adds a personalized touch that enhances its appeal.
