Description:
From 1919, when it was introduced, the Winchester Model 52 target rifle dominated small-bore competition. This continued until some very exotic Anschutz target rifles were introduced, but even now, the 52 holds its own. I always wanted one, so I snagged it when it came on sale. One problem is that my 78-year-old 20/40 vision with mild cataracts doesn't allow me to enjoy its full potential. I posted photos of my six-shot 100-yard bench rest group on the right and the group shot by my 45-year-old friend with 20/20 vision. This was the first time either of us shot it. We used standard CCI 1200 FPs Round Nose Copper-plated ammo. DIFFERENT EYES =BIG DIFFERENCE. Amazingly, I could see the target thanks to the fantastic Marble Goss Receiver sight and Valver Globe front sight, which came with the rifle.
I was told it was barreled with a 26" Heavy 1" crowned 1 in 16" twist SHILEN SELECT MATCH BARREL installed, bedded, and accurized by gunsmith and competitive small bore shooter Brian Voelker. The bore diameter on the search's rifled, four-grooved barrels does not vary more than .0001" throughout the barrel's length. My friend suggested I put a scope on it. It was made with these iron sights, costing you at least $ 300 on eBay. I would no more put a scope on it than I would put neoprene grips on a 19th-century Gen One Colt SAA. This 12.5-pound classic precision shooting platform should go to someone who can fully enjoy it. I got it for a reasonable price, and I'm selling it for what I paid.
