Exceptional example of a very scarce and highly desirable Pre War Model 70 in 22 Hornet caliber.
S/N 51170 with matching scribed bolt made in 1942.
This rifle is in outstanding original and untouched condition, retaining virtually all of it's original finish with only scattered minor rubs or marks.
The 24" barrel has a pristine bore, and all mechanical functions are very crisp and functioning flawlessly.
The matted area on top of rear receiver bridge remains correctly undrilled.
I have verified that the chamber remains a true 22 Hornet and has never been reamed to "K" Hornet nor any other.
All inner components unique to the 22 hornet are present and correct and the inside floorplate is stamped with a pre war triangle and the small letter H.
All outer components are present and correct including proper front sight and hood, 22g rear sight w/ 4 step elevator, swivels, etc.
A highly collectible condition rifle in a highly sought after caliber/configuration that would be difficult to improve upon.
