Description:
Springfield Model 1903 rifle. Full military configuration. Excellent condition. Serial number dates the manufacture date to 1918. Improved heat treating began with serial 800,000, this rifle is number 870,068.
numbers below 800,000 are considered low so this is fairly early.
The metal is all military phosphate finish and has acquired the green patina from decades of exposure to military cleaning fluid and oil.
Bore is bright with strong rifling.
Military stock is walnut with no cracks, splits and only a few slight dings from storage.
