Description:
Saturday May 24th, 1pm - 5pm Designed for women interested in learning archery, this welcoming course offers a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of the sport, from understanding proper equipment to developing precise shooting techniques. The class begins with a friendly overview of archery basics, including a brief history and a clear explanation of range safety rules. We'll help you determine your hand and eye dominance and ensure you're fitted with the right equipment for a comfortable start. To build essential muscle memory and proper form, we'll use a stretching aid to practice the 11-step shooting sequence before you even draw an arrow, focusing on achieving a smooth and consistent draw and release. Once we've established the fundamentals, we'll move on to shooting at scored targets, where we'll focus on refining your anchor point, hand position, and aim. You'll continue to practice the 11-step sequence, emphasizing consistency and accuracy. When everyone feels comfortable, we'll explore more advanced shooting techniques, shooting at varying distances and working on tight groupings. To add a fun and engaging element to the class, we'll wrap up with some lighthearted challenges for bragging rights, before moving to the Griffin & Howe dining room for a Q&A over drinks and hors d'oeuvres. $195 per person (plus applicable NJ sales tax). All equipment is provided. Age 16 and over only. Dress code: no t-shirts, blue jeans or open-toed shoes please. Cancellation Policy: Must contact us to cancel 10 days prior to class to receive full refund, or 72 hours prior to class to receive a 50% refund (minus credit card processing fees and applicable NJ sales tax). Any cancellations made less than 72 hours before the class date cannot be refunded.
