Synopsis: Wonderful S&W, Model 28 Highway Patrolman, Early Production, S190871, FB01099 Description: High original condition Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman, caliber .375 Magnum, with early 4 screw large frame and “S” prefix serial number. Standard features include 6 ½ inch pin barrel with serrated ramp front sight and fully adjustable rear sight. S&W name spelled out on the left side of the barrel; caliber and model on the right side of the barrel. Right side of the frame with the S&W location in Springfield, Mass. Usual side plate logo. Case hardened beavertail hammer and trigger, the latter fitted with a trigger shoe. Correct full size target grips. No box or literature. Condition: 99% bright original blue with just the faintest muzzle wear and cylinder ring. As you can tell from the image of the recoil shield, this revolver has hardly been shot.
