Description:
Engraved Winchester Model 21 side-by-side shotgun chambered in 20 Gauge. Factory custom ordered with copy of original order slip dating the request to September 1935. Ordered by Abercrombie & Fitch Co. with the modified/full chokes, a beavertail forend, single trigger, and ejectors when it was completed on May 15, 1936. Subsequently upgraded to the current configuration by renowned American Master Engraver Ralph Alpen. Features include 28-inch blued barrels with 2-5/8 inch chambers and blued boxlock action with highly attractive floral scroll engraving surrounding a gold inlaid woodcock on the left, a gold inlaid pheasant cock on the right, a portrait of a setter with a shot grouse in his mouth on the underside, and a gold inlaid quail on the triggerguard. The portrait on the underside is signed "Engr. R. O. Alpen". Comes with a Cody Firearms Museum letter and photocopy of the original factory special order form detailing the configuration when it was ordered on 18 September 1935 and delivery on 15 May 1936. 12 Gauge
