Description:
The Model 1903 is also known as the Colt Pocket Hammerless. It had a 75-year run as a product at Colt and was widely copied throughout Europe. This Browning design pistol features a hammer contained under the slide, and with its slim, rounded shape, ws quite popular as a carry weapon on both sides of the law. It saw service in civilian police, military, and private security. It is said that Generals Eisenhower, Patton, Marshall, and Bradley were all issued them. On the other side of the law, Al Capone, Clyde Barrow, Bonnie Parker, John Dillinger, Willie Sutton, all carried them. The slim profile and rounded edges were easy, and discrete, carry in a pocket. This one was manufactured in 1926, and appears to be a Type IV with the barrel shroud. It has extensive Acanthus engraving and all factory stamps are sharp. 7.65MM (.32 ACP)
