Description: The Browning Auto 5 was the first commercially successful, mass produced, semi automatic shotgun. It was designed by John Moses Browning in 1898 and patented in 1900, making it continuously produced in one form or another for almost 100 years. The Browning Sweet Sixteen was a side development of the successful auto 5 shotgun, using lighter weight components designed for the smaller gauge shotshells. This example of the A5 Sweet Sixteen is in very good overall condition, with only light to mild wear. like many firearms from the 1960's and 70's , the stocks were finished with a thick varnish finish, which has since cracked across much of the surface.
