This pistol is marked "SILESIA". The early FN postwar High Powers were finished to the same meticulous standards as the prewar guns. Many were sold to US servicemen stationed in Germany and purchased through the Silesia Gun Club. This commercial example has fixed sights, a thumbprint slide, internal extractor and a ring hammer. The left side of the slide is marked with a 3-line address referencing FN and its location in Herstal, Belgium, surmounting the reference to Browning's patent. Scattered Belgian proofs are in the usual locations on the left side of the pistol along with the right side of the exposed barrel hood that also references the 9mmP caliber. The full serial number is on the right side of the slide and frame. Disassembly shows a matching serial number on the left side of the barrel hood. The importation by SILESIA is reflected by the importer's marking on the right side of the trigger guard. The pistol is fitted with standard walnut checkered bordered grips, each panel secured with a single screw, and a later era magazine with a blued follower, body, and a painted, button-secured floorplate. The condition is a crisp 98% bright original rust blue. Very little wear from handling or holstering. Most wear attributed to superficial speckling, largely found over crest of slide and straps. Excellent grips and magazine. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A wonderful early postwar Belgian FN High Power pistol sold though the SILESIA Gun Club in Germany. Includes 1 mag.
