Description:
This is a Winchester 1895, saddle ring carbine, lever-action rifle chambered in .30 Army (.30-40 Krag). It has the correct ladder type flip up carbine sight and the wood over guard. Additionally, it has a Model 21 Lyman rear receiver sight, which was typical of the day. The butt plate is a steel butt plate with a cleaning rod opening. The 1895 was the last lever gun to be designed by John Browning, it was popular among hunters and most notably President Theodore Roosevelt. They were offered in a variety of calibers, and some were issued to the U.S. Military. This model was made in 1915 and the gun weighs 8 lbs 7.2 ounces.
