The belgium version of the Remington Model 8. Two variations were produced one having a solid rib on the barrel jacket and one without the solid rib. This variation I am offering does not have the solid rib. In my experience collecting Remington Mod 8 and 81 rifles I have seen more of the FN rifles with the solid rib and I feel that those without the rib are less common but I do not have specific numbers. This particular rifle is rated about 90 % or better over - all. The blue is solid throughout with a few marks on the barrel jacket and a brown spot of oxidation on the left side top receiver. There are some small dents in both sides of the magazine. The rear stock has the standard round knob pistol grip and the FN logo hard rubber butt plate. The forend is standard FN with the schabel tip slightly differant that the Mod 8.The wood is hand checkered with no cracks or extra holes. The sling swivels are factory on all FN rifles. The Bolt handle , rear and front sights are factory FN. The roll stampings on the receiver are all correct FN Belgium. There are some scratches and dings on the wood which I rate about 88%. The Serial Number is 2154. The bore is Very Good with deep rifling and quite shiny with some very light frosting noted. This rifle was purchased by me in May of 2011 and has been in my collection since. This particular rifle was part of the Robert Creamer collection in Oregon and purchased from his son Brian Creamer. The Creamer family is well known in the realm of Rem. 8 and 81 rifles and the like, and contributed many of his guns and accessories to the publishing of Jon Henwoods book on The Great Remington 8 & 81 Autoloading Rifles. This rifle is booked and will be transfered under my personal C&R License although I am a storefront FFL Dealer in business 21 years with over 1600 A+ Internet Sale Ratings. I will ship this rifle to a FFL or C&R within the Continental US only including AK and HI. Please ask questions and examine photos NO RETURNS. The buyer pays shipping cost.
