Description:
Superb high/best quality gun built with 27-3/4" Boehler steel demi-bloc brls that have matted concave top rib with small white front bead. Splinter forend is point pattern checkered and has finely engraved blued Anson type push button release and iron as well as gold inlaid maker's crest at center. Maker's crest engraved on bottom "IMPERIALE MONTE CARLO EXTRA". Coin finished 8 pin sidelock receiver is full coverage miniature scroll engraved and has beaded fences and sculpted bottom rails. Bottom of frame engraved in oval "SpA L. FRANCHI/BRESCIA". Blued top lever and top tang are also miniature scroll engraved and top lever with sculpted dragon piercing at thumb point. Signed "INC F. MEDICI 76" on right side of trigger guard. Blued long tang right handed rolled edge trigger guard is near full coverage miniature scroll engraved with gold oval at center of bow. Gun made with double triggers (front trigger articulated), auto ejectors, non-auto safety, and disc bushed strikers. Polished flats with proof stamps and stamped "IMPERIALE MONTE CARLO EXTRA". Finely figured straight grip walnut buttstock with carved teardrops behind receiver is checkered in 2 point pattern through the wrist, and terminates with its original checkered butt.
Overall, this gun remains in extremely fine original condition showing very limited use. Retains nearly all factory original finishes throughout. Top lever rests right of center indicating very limited use. Gun is near tight as new and has brilliant shiny bores with excellent mechanics.
This gun has it all - looks, balance, feel, and exudes best quality manufacturing and finishes. The engraving by Francesco Medici is superior and cannot be duplicated today.
