For sale is a Smith & Wesson Model 59 chambered in 9mm. This pistol has a 4.5\" barrel, 13-round capacity, It’s in GREAT
The Model 59 has an interesting backstory—it was originally developed in the 1960s for the U.S. Navy as a high-capacity version of the Model 39, aiming to pair the design with the 13-round Browning Hi-Power mag. Though it was never officially adopted, the design lived on and became one of Smith & Wesson’s first double-stack 9mm pistols when it hit the civilian market in 1971. Production ended in 1982, with about 231,000 made before the second-gen 459 replaced it.
It’s a great find for anyone into vintage Smiths or classic double-stack 9mms.
