CUSTOMIZED RUGER STAINLES STEEL OLD ARMY .45 PERCUSSION REVOLVER, #145-15XXX, MADE 1978. This Stainless Old Army has been fitted with a matching stainless steel Super Blackhawk grip frame with square back trigger guard. This is a larger grip frame than the standard Old Army and allows all fingers on the front strap. It also gives the revolver a "Dragoon" look. It is also fitted with a pinned red insert front sight in the original ramp and a white outline rear sight. Recently passed sixgun expert John Taffin was a fan of putting the Super Blackhawk grip straps on the Old Army as he said it kept his fingers from being battered by the rear of the trigger guard. Excllent overall. Bright bore, tight mechanically. Does not appear to have seen much if any real use.
