Description:
This is a British Model 1853 Standard Pattern Bayonet with Locking Ring for the Snider, Endfield and bushed Martini-Henry rifles. The near excellent 17 ¼" blade is free of nicks, nice tip with light oxidation and age soiling. The ricasso is marked broad arrow over Crown over E over 12. The elbow and socket retain brown finish, light surface oxidation. The correct brass and leather scabbard is in very good condition with some dents and dings, frog stud is marked 136 and the rivits on the face of the topmount are pulled free. There are signs of use but over-all in very good condition.
