Description:
"NSN. Made circa 1750. 59 caliber with an 8.5" barrel. This gun has a dark brown patina on the metal. The top of the barrel as engraved and gold inlaid, but only traces of the engraving and gold remain. The wood is very good with decorative raised carving behind the upper tang and in front of the trigger guard. There is a small crack on each side of the stock from the muzzle going rearwards. The lock is marked “Coignet/ Le Lyonnais" The wood on the lower part of the lock is broken out, but long ago. The butt cap has long ears and engraving on the butt. This is a early quality made officer’s pistol!
