Description: Early WWII Japanese Type 14 8MM Auto Pistol C. 1940 Offered here for sale for the WWII military firearms collector is this newly acquired original WWII vintage Japanese military Type 14 8MM auto pistol. The Japanese Type 14 8mm Auto Pistol is a semi-automatic handgun that was used by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. The Type 14 was designed, 1934 (14th year of the Showa era). This handgun is chambered in 8mm Nambu, a cartridge that was standard for Japanese sidearms during the period. It was produced by Nambu Arms Manufacturing and used by the Japanese military during WWII. It is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic pistol with a distinctive appearance. It has a relatively simple mechanism, designed for reliability and ease of use under harsh conditions. The standard magazine capacity is 8 rounds. The Type 14 is built with a steel frame and wooden grips, these particular grips are late war plain grips. The pistol carries an early war date "15.4" which refers to April of 1940, the production year. These specimens are DESIRABLE and the pistol serial number 76754 is all original except for the non-matching magazine however it is a proper one . The pistol itself is in good used condition with an excellent bore. There is some slight "peppery" patina rear of frame right side. It retains large majority of finish with blue mixing with gray patina. The grips are fine and in solid shape. The Type 14 8mm is considered one of the more collectible and historically significant pistols of the WWII era. Great for starter collector or to an individual who collects various war dates.
