Description:
The Detonics Combat Master is well known as the first reliable compact .45 ACP pistol that was smaller than the Colt Commander. I am not an expert on these firearms, but this example is what may be a 1st year production MkI. Serial numbers and production years are very sketchy on this. The serial range of production guns started at serial number 2000. As Detonics collectors know the early production Combat Masters were customized from secondary supplier sources such as Essex and Caspian.
The markings on the pistol are as follows (See pictures):
Left side of slide: DETONICS .45
Right side of slide is blank
Left side of frame is blank
Right side of frame: DETONICS ASSOCS.

Barrel is unmarked
There does not appear to be any markings on the inside of the frame or inside of the slide.
Please note knurled squared trigger guard. This appears to be somewhat unique as I have only seen one other example. However, I have seen a number of different features on the early production pistols. Enough to make me think that perhaps factory production workers were given some leeway in the features that were incorporated on these early pistols.
The finish on this gun appears to be identical to images of other similarly serial numbered guns on the internet and or sites. I estimate the finish at 95% plus. The bore is very clear and bright. The 6 round magazine appears to be original factory. The original factory case and manual are included.
