Wonderful MILITIA STYLE Longarm
Here we present an antique European Flintlock Smoothbore Musket, made circa the late-18th/early-19th Century. This musket features a smoothbore .72 caliber barrel with iron furniture. It has a full-length stock and simple, standard components. This is the type of indigenous musket that would have been sent over to the American colonies in the years surrounding the post-American Revolutionary War era. Guns such as this would have been a staple in the homes of most everyone living in the countryside, to both provide food for the table or to protect against both man and beast.
The overall condition is good. Original, dark barrel patina. The stock is solid throughout and has been re-oiled. Strong action. The bore is in good shape for its age and has darkened. The buttplate is slightly oversized. Stable repairs around the barrel tang.
