Description:
Very few of these were sold making them pretty rare. Camo is done by Marlin. Rifle is in great mechanical shape, lever action is smooth, no sharp edges as you would expect from a JM Marlin. Information is hard to find, but all the metal pieces appear to be parkerized or could be blued, but nothing on the exterior is shiny on this rifle. Microgroove barrel bore is shiny and clean. The rifle is officially a 30AS which probably means Marlin decided to camo over birch stocks rather than walnut as the rest of the rifle is the same as a 336. The rifle came stock with a brass bead front sight and sling mounts. The camo extends into the receiver and even the buttplate screws. The rifle appears to have never had a scope mounted. The camo does show some usage and handling marks and a few scuffs such as the right side of the barrel, buttplate and the cartridge gate, nothing offensive though. I have done my best to document these areas in the pictures. I have more and some closer pictures if you wish to see more of a specific area, just contact me through GI or give me a call. Overall the finish is in my opinion pretty nice and anyone would be proud to own this rifle without worry if you wanted to take it hunting. There are many Marlin 30-30s but very few like this.
