Description:
This is an early Civil War CDV of Captain Henry P. Fox. Captain Fox residence in Worcester MA and was a 25 year old Merchant at the time of his enlistment on December 31st 1861 as a 1st Lieutenant. On December 31st 1861 he mustered into “D” Co. MA 30th Infantry. He then resigned on April 10th 1862. He was not commissioned by the Governor of Massachusetts. On August 11TH 1862 he was commissioned into “H” Co. MA 34th Infantry and promoted to Captain on August 13th 1862 and was mustered out on July 6th 1865. He was listed as a POW on May 15th 1864 at New Market, VA. and was also wounded that same day. He was paroled on January 15th 1865.
