Description:
Dakota Arms of South Dakota was acquired and rebranded as Parkwest Arms in 2021.
This rifle was recently completed for us by Parkwest Arms using a new/old stock, original Model 76 action marked "Dakota Arms" and chambered for .416 Rigby.
The Model 76 in .416 Rigby is only available in the Dark Continent configuration by Parkwest Arms, what used to be the Dakota Arms African.
The Model 76 control-round feed action for the .416 Rigby family of cartridges is correctly sized to accomodate 4 down in the magazine with enough room to close the bolt on a 5th chambered round with a drop-belly straddle floorplate and an inside-the-bow release, an M70 type trigger and a 3-position safety, a jeweled bolt body, and two-panel checkered bolt knob.
The Exhibtion grade English walnut stock has the classic Dakota Arms profile with a RH shadowline cheekpiece, a 13 5/8" LOP over a leather covered pad, two panel checkering on the grip, wrap checkering on the forend, and an Ebony forend tip, a steel grip cap, a two-screw inletted rear sling swivel, and two steel cross-bolts.
The 24" barrel has a quarter rib with 1 standing/2 folding leaf sights (100, 150, 200 yds), a barrel band sling swivel, and banded/hooded front sight with a removable sight hood and flip up night sight.
The rifle is fitted with Talley dovetail bases and Talley 30mm Lever Lock rings.
The receiver, bolt shroud, bottom metal, sling swivel, grip cap, cross-bolts, and rings & bases are color case hardened.
The rifle is new and overall is in very nice condition. While the rifle has never been used, it did pick up some handling marks when the rifle was displayed during this past tradeshow season. The marks are superficial and the rifle is being sold as is.
Rifle weighs 10 lbs 4 oz and has a custom serial number: NDLOVU-3. Ndlovu is the Matabele word for "elephant".
