Description:
Civilian Model 1851 Navy Revolver with Holster and accoutrements. 7 1/2" octagon barrel. 36 caliber with a good bore. Only traces of the cylinder scene remain. Serial numbers match. The top of the barrel is marked, Address Col. Sam Colt New-York U.S. Of America; in one line. The brass trigger guard and backstrap have a pleasing patina. Other metal surfaces are a mix of gray and thinning blue. The wood grips have a crack on the left side. The holster is in rough shape. The stitching has pulled away. (See Photo) The belt loop on the holster is missing a copper rivet. The belt Buckel is an original civil war officers brass buckle. The serial number puts production in 1861 so this pistol may have seen Civil War action. All item pictured in the first photo are included in the sale. I'm sure I've left some information out.
