Description:
Rechamber from 257 Bob, 10 twist 24" barrel; mag length is a full 3.2" which is surprising on a 722, and it's the correct OAL for this ctg. Stock has been cleaned and reoiled, no cracks. Bore looks decent, not shot out. With Weaver bases and optionally period El Paso Weaver scope which I believe is a 4x but I can't find a marking on it, the obj lens has a chip in the periphery which doesn't seem to affect anything. But this caliber really asks for more magnification. This comes pretty close to duplicating the 257 Wby with about 15% less powder burn and no belt which is an abomination. Anyway, it's an AI for a lot less than it would cost to build one. Cases last longer than std 25-06, and the ctg is quite efficient with good range for antelope, mule deer and even PDs.
