Description:
The following address is clearly stamped on the left side of the slide, "Browning Arms Company Morgan, Utah & Montreal P.O." and below that, "Made in Belgium." The actual manufacturer, of course, was Fabrique Nationale at their factory in Herstal, Belgium, but Browning was paying the costs of production. The pistol is serialized with the first three digits of "76C," the first two showing the date of manufacture and the third is the series letter of the run produced. The history of the designer and the manufacturer are well documented and it doesn't seem necessary here. What is relevant is the pistols that served in the neighborhood of 100 countries before, during, and after World War II. They are still in business today, in Belgium and in the U.S. The C Series is seen by many as the last of the glossy finishes that FNH was known for postwar. The pistol is in at least very good, and is bordering on excellent, with about 98 percent of its original finish remaining. It comes with a ten round magazine or a thirteen round magazine, or no magazine at all, depending on the laws enacted in the state being shipped to. Thanks for looking.
