Description:
***SALE PENDING***
Excellent Winchester 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine in 25-20 caliber. Very scarce in this finer condition.
S/N 947439 made in 1925.
The bluing is very strong on barrel and mag tube, as well as on all protected surfaces, with a rich and even tone showing only widely scattered light nicks. There is typical flaking of the receiver, most notably on the sidewalls  and underneath, which has partially turned to a gunmetal/brown patina.
The wood remains in exceptional condition, proud everywhere with virtually all of its original finish, showing only minimal light marks and/or staining. There are no cracks, broken corners, repairs or refinish. Very nice. You may notice a fine line on L side just in front of the forearm band that is not a crack, but appears to be a scratch that probably occured during a previous takedown.
The 20" barrel has a minty bore, bright with strong rifling throughout its entire length. All mechanical functions are working smoothly and properly as well.
Original sight package includes a pinned front blade and 200 yard rear ladder sight.
Not perfect, but one of the nicest you'll see offered, especially considering its 100 years of circulation!
Please add $100 for expedited and fully insured shipping in a custom cut, foam lined box.
