This Collector and Shooter’s Winchester Model 53 Takedown Rifle in 25-20/25 WCF Caliber Condition is in excellent condition for age with SN 74XX numbered in the separate Model 53 series making it a late 1920s (estimated) Date of Manufacture. Markings and Patent Dates are Correct and Sharp; the Straight-Grain Wood Stock and Forend are in Excellent Condition; and the entire rifle shows only minor to moderate wear after almost 100 years; and the bore is excellent with sharp rifling that was difficult to photograph. The Serrated Buttplate, Magazine & Forend Caps, and metal have some remaining Blue with mostly Smooth Patina. Mechanical functions are tight and secure. This Original Winchester is a better buy than any similarly-priced modern replica – plus, this one is a Takedown.
