Synopsis:

Phenomenal SIG/SIG SAUER VonBank Pistol Collection, consisting of a SIG P210-6, SIG SAUER P220, P225, P226, P230, all in 9mm, finished with electroless nickle, gold plated small parts, and oiled wood checkered grips, complete is aluminum framed hard case with gold Vonbank label and original certificate.

Description:

The Vonbank collection consisted of 5 special finish pistols with a matching serial number (differing only in their letter prefix), that were assembled and cased between 1987-1990. Although the accompanying certificate cited that the sets were limited to 555, the SIG mentions that only 350 were actually completed. The guns were all finished in electroless nickle with gold plated small parts and wood checkered grips. After completion they were test fired, explaining the minor handling/test marks, a circumstance that was clearly pointed out in their accompanying certificate. It is unlikely that any of these pistols were subsequently fired, explaining their “As New” appearance. This set is serial number 555468, complete with the original aluminum framed, blue felt lined case, french fitted for each of the pistols and accompanied by a certificate in German and copy of English translation. No keys. As a point of interest, it should be noted that the sets sold for $12,000 upon their introduction! Sales restricted as the P226 has a high capacity magazine.

Condition:

AS NEW, with just a few marks from the requisite test firing as cited on their accompanying certificate. Comparable condition interior, the exterior of the case with scattered superficial scuffs. A phenomenal and dramatic set by any metric, seldom offered for sale in the United States.
