SUPER RARE, NEW IN ORIGINAL BOX, COBRA .32 NEW POLICE CALIBER (.32 S&W LONG), WITH 3” BARREL, #243XXXLW, MADE 1967. Almost all the Cobra revolvers were made in .38 Special with 2” barrels. The .32 NP caliber with 3” is rarely seen. In the extensive book by Gurney Brown, SEVEN SERPENTS- The History of Colt’s Snake Guns, the author rates rarity of Cobra variations from 1-5 with 5 the most rare (almost never encountered). The .32 Cal. Cobra is rated a “4” and the 3” barrel is rated “3” (most being .38 Spec. Caliber or standard length for the .22 LR version). This example is flat new in the original box. The wood-grain Colt box with correct end label is numbered to this revolver and is in surprisingly excellent condition with the inside cardboard compartments also excellent. An amazing 58 year old Colt find! There can’t be many like this still in existence.
